Delete your Mahjong House account

You can delete your Mahjong House online account and the data linked to it at any time, in the app or by email. Here's how, and exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

For Mahjong House ("Mahjong House: Online Play" on Google Play, package com.adm.mahjonghouse, and on the App Store), developed by Asian Digital Mind LLC.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Mahjong House and tap your avatar at the top right of the Home screen to open your Profile.
  2. Tap Delete Online Profile.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm. Your online account is deleted straight away, and every device signed in to it is signed out.

The steps are the same on iPhone, iPad and Android. You can't delete while you're seated in an online match: leave the match first. Deleting can't be undone.

Ask us by email (no app needed)

Email support@mahjonghouse.app with the subject "Delete my account". Tell us your display name exactly as it appears in the app. If you linked a Google or Apple sign-in, send the email from that account's email address.

How we check it's you: so that nobody can delete someone else's account, we check that the email comes from the address of the account's linked sign-in. If the account has no linked sign-in, or the addresses don't match, we'll ask you to confirm in another way, for example by temporarily changing your display name in the app to a short code we send you. If we can't verify a request, we'll tell you why.

When: we reply to confirm we've received your request, delete the account within 30 days, and email you when it's done.

Email a deletion request

What is deleted

  • Your online account: its account ID and when it was created.
  • Your display name and avatar, wherever they were shown to other players.
  • Season jade and leaderboard entries: your season scores, league standing, match counts and hidden matchmaking rating, for every season.
  • Your match history, as yours: your seats in past matches are unlinked from you, so they no longer show your name or connect to you.
  • Linked sign-in identities: the link to your Google or Apple account and all sign-in tokens (every device is signed out).
  • Your sign-in record with our authentication provider (Supabase Auth), which holds the email address, name, profile picture link and user ID that Google or Apple shared: deleted within 30 days of an email request. Deleting in the app removes its link to your game account straight away; email us as well to have the record itself removed.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Past match results, without you: the points and places at each seat of past online matches stay, so other players' records stay correct, but they no longer identify you. Kept while we run online play.
  • Backups: our database provider's backups are overwritten on their normal rolling cycle, after which the deleted data is gone from them too.
  • Server logs: connection logs (IP address, time, app version) are kept for up to 30 days.
  • Analytics: Firebase Analytics event data isn't linked to your online account. It's deleted after at most 14 months; after that we keep only anonymised, aggregated statistics.
  • Purchase records: Apple or Google, and RevenueCat (our purchase-management provider), keep records of Remove Ads and Sifu purchases under your Apple ID or Google account, to restore your purchases and as required for tax and accounting. They aren't linked to your online account.
  • Emails with us: including your deletion request, kept for up to 2 years as a record that we acted on it.
  • Advertising data: Google (AdMob) holds ad data under its own privacy policy. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the device's Settings (Privacy > Ads); on iPhone and iPad you can turn off tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Data on your device

Solo games, stats, replays, achievement progress and settings are stored on your device, not on our servers, so deleting your account doesn't touch them. Uninstall the app to remove them. On Android, if backup is turned on, a copy of your settings, local profile and stats may also be in your Google account's device backup, which you manage in Android's Settings; your online sign-in token is never included.

Purchases and subscriptions

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Sifu subscription or refund a purchase. Cancel Sifu in the store you subscribed through (see Support). Remove Ads and Sifu stay with your Apple ID or Google account, and you can restore them after reinstalling.

Delete some data only

To have some of your data deleted without deleting your account (for example your sign-in record, or your emails with us), email support@mahjonghouse.app and tell us what you'd like removed. The Privacy Policy has the details.
